B Lazy M Ranch is a Firewise USA Certified Community (Firewise Renewal Certificate)
Firewise is a nationwide program that educates communities to take action to lower the risk of wildfire danger.
- The program encourages each homeowner to minimize the risk of wildfire damage to their property by creating a defensible space around homes and minimizing structural ignitability.
- Part of being a recognized Firewise USA® site is reporting the ongoing work residents complete each year to reduce their wildfire risks, while addressing the areas identified in their community’s wildfire assessment.
- Part of the annual renewal, B Lazy M Ranch is required to annually invest the equivalent of one volunteer hour per dwelling unit in wildfire risk reduction actions. For our current 27 structure community, then 27 hours of work or the monetary equivalent.
- Use this form to record your Risk reduction investment: Record your efforts to reduce its wildfire risk in the calendar year. You can include any time invested and expenses you may have had to reduce its wildfire risk.
- The major benefit of this program is the reduced risk of wildfire damage to the properties in the neighborhood.
There are no rules or requirements that must be followed and each homeowner can decide on their own level of participation. The prevention measures are only recommendations.
